Mean Girls trailer

The Mean Girls trailer uses the stereotypes of younger people to portray an image that they are obsessed with their image,status, appearance and sex. The trailer shows the group of teenage girls going shopping ,this connotes to how they care about how they look, this follows the stereotypes of younger people because it shows them changing there appearance with clothes to fit in and be popular. Additionally the Mean Girls trailer shows boys and girls having an obsession with each other, we see a key focus on there feelings with each other and there sexual activity with them. This follow a stereotype of younger people as generally teenagers are stereotyped to always have sex in mind ,however  they might not engage in sexually activity as it stands.

Stormzy 'shut up' music video

This music video follows the stereotypes of younger people by using the following stereotypes:

First of all in the visual codes we see a large amount of boys in one area, this could could connote that they are a gang, additionally it emphasizes that they are popular, due to the mass amount of people standing around which seems to be their friendship circle. Secondly, the stereotype of status means a lot to younger people is used here , this is because the fact  Stormzy is stood in the middle wearing completely opposite clothing to the rest, this makes him stand out and implies that he is trying to get the message across that he is the most important and has a higher status.Thirdly, he is represented as violent in the audio codes and visual codes, thus is shown when he says "Shut the fuck up, shut your fucking mouth
Oi rudeboy, shut up",this represents him as aggressive and triggers a thought to the audience that his violent ,this is the same for the visual codes.

Aldi advert 2011

This TV advert represents older people, it uses the stereotype that all old people are old fashion and wise.It represents her as wise hen she is comparing to two different teabags and how she is saying the aldi brand is the same and costs less , in some ways shes giving the audience advise how to budget money. However she goes against the stereotype of old people having more money and middle class as she is represented like she is financially worried. In addition she is represented as old fashion by the background behind her which shows a traditional cupboard and old fashion collectible plates, this follows the stereotype as it is the opposite of modern.

These characters in Family Guy follow the stereotype of being rich/middle class , right wing, old fashion and bitter, we get the idea that they are middle class from an episode where we find out Cater has never been on a bus before and it is abnormal to him, he asks "these people live here" which represents him as clueless and shows he has so much money his never been on a bus.Nevertheless we also come to understand that he  follows stereotypes of old people by  being very old fashion, when Peter is first introduced to him, he knocks him out and throws him into the sea because he doesn't like him and doesn't agree with his daughter dating him. Finally, we get the idea that stereotyped as bitter as he exploits Peter by forcing him to do horrible things such as drinking his blood ,this could also suggest that he is above him in the class hierarchy

Representation of women in music videos.

In this modern day era of music videos women are frequently presented as sex objects as they are wearing provocative clothing or erotic dancing is shown. This is also shown by the clothes they are wearing .An example of a music video that shows this is 'He like that' Fifth Harmony as they were wearing leotards and there dancing was sexualised . however they are represented as what would be considered an ideal body type by the media ,this puts the message across that this is how we should look.The media uses the stereotype of the way you dress determines how sexually available you are. The reason this is done is to attract a male target audience, as stereotypically men like to see women being sexy ,which could be classified as entertaining as part of the Uses and Gratification Theory. Tide is a historical print based ad from the 1950s; the ad is produced by proctor and gamble. The ideas attitudes and beliefs are outdated. In addition, the ad came out at the time of the post war, Americas technology developed rapidly especially within the domestic sphere. These products became desirable and symbolized status related to the American dream. Adverts such as tide in American melodramas, due to this these programs became known as soap dramas.
