This was a song that was out in the 70s and adds to the idea of hyperreality of the protagonist, references the media texts he has seen which refers to this era 

The hyperrealitythat is being shown is shot in dark/gloomy lighting suggesting it was a depressing time of the past


The representations also reference the past as it is a male only office and they have little respect for the female characters in the episode, we understand that they constantly see them as sexual objects.

Analysis of a newspaper front cover. This is an analysis on The Suns newspaper front cover, it will analyse the technical codes used . The masthead is "The Sun" tells us this is a right winged, tabloid  newspaper and will be in favour of the royal family, so we would expect language that gives off a positive connotation.  The first thing that catches our attention is the main image as it takes up the majority of the page, the image has positive connotations as it shows a happy royal couple. .The strapline tells us it is a "world exclusive"  this is the selling point for newspaper as the photo is a break through on Prince Harrys love life. The headline portrays a very possessive message when it uses "his Meg", this may link to the right winged conservative view and links to traditional values of the man owning his wife. Tide is a historical print based ad from the 1950s; the ad is produced by proctor and gamble. The ideas attitudes and beliefs are outdated. In addition, the ad came out at the time of the post war, Americas technology developed rapidly especially within the domestic sphere. These products became desirable and symbolized status related to the American dream. Adverts such as tide in American melodramas, due to this these programs became known as soap dramas. The ad use hyperbole and explanation marks make the product seem essential to the target audience. Nevertheless, the target audience is women as they sole for the home; the product would have mainly appealed to middle class women who are attracted to saving time.
